Take on multiday excursions in technical terrain with comfortable and protected feet. The Acrux TR is made with a lightweight and highly wear-resistant upper, thanks to its integrated micro-plates - a material commonly used in bomb-disposal suits. The TPU overlay and rubber toecap protect high abrasion areas and an integrated TPU chassis keeps your feet stable and supported on uneven terrain.
Best Boot I have ever owned.
After owning and wearing these boots for about a month hiking through all terrain for long days, here are my final thoughts:
These are the most comfortable, reliable pair of boots I have ever owned. The boots fit narrow and mold to your feet for the best comfort in the world, as such they are also extremely light and help when agility is needed in the field whether that is a gravel path or steep alpine and anywhere in between. The large rubber lip up to the gore-tex prevents creasing like in previous Arcteryx boots and aids in water-proofing. Another major pro - these boots look super cool and very professional.
Now the bad. The laces will untie themselves for the first 20Km of hiking, so if you don't hike that much i suggest switching them out when you get them to avoid breaking for regular re-ties. They are very warm, so should be warn with thin socks in summer. And finally, the sides and sole of these are totally water proof, however the tongue is not, if you go ankle deep in a stream or if it's raining hard you will have slightly damp feet for the rest of your journey.
Overall for my line of work the pro's of comfort and agility outweigh the con's.
I hope this helps you in making your decision!
