The construction of these boots has gone downhill in the past four years. Bought my first pair in 2017. Hiked the Camino de Santiago and put about 1500Km on that pair. Bought another pair in 2021. The construction on these new boots is much cheaper. The lace hooks used to be large, hinged and smooth. Now it's a simple, narrow U shaped piece of steel that cuts into laces. The interior does not have as much leather as my first pair. The more recent pair does not have as much foot/arch support as the first pair I bought. The Vibram sole has already worn through to the core on the heel (after only about 200Km of hiking). Although the two pairs of boots have the same name they are not the same boot they were five years ago. Go ahead and try them out but don't let this boot's previous reputation guide your purchase decision. They've definitely cut corners on the quality.
