"I have paddled the Du Moine River. But I knew nothing about this extraordinary river and its watershed until I read Wally Schaber's fabulous The Last of the Wild Rivers. Exhaustive, detailed, informative and fun, it is both the story of a river and of the people of the river, from First Nations to canoeing icons Bill Mason and Pierre Trudeau. Wally himself is a legendary guide; now he guides you smoothly and seemingly effortlessly through the very history of Canada."
Roy MacGregor, author of Canoe Country
