Recall Information

ATTENTION: ALL USERS OF PIEPS AND BLACK DIAMOND BEACONS.

In coordination with the United States Consumer Product Safety Commission (CPSC) and Health Canada, Black Diamond Equipment, Ltd. is voluntarily recalling PIEPS Pro BT, Powder BT, DSP Sport, DSP Pro, DSP Pro Ice, Micro Button BT, Micro BT Sensor and Micro BT Race avalanche transceivers and the Black Diamond branded Recon BT and Guide BT avalanche transceivers. This voluntary recall follows a previous Safety Check Notice from April 2022.

The reason for the voluntary recall is related to a material handling / assembly anomaly in manufacturing that affected a small number of units. The recalled transceivers may not switch from SEND mode into SEARCH mode. If this were to occur, the device would not be able to locate another skier in an avalanche, which could result in severe bodily harm or death if a skier is buried under snow.

What will Black Diamond do?
Black Diamond will replace or repair all affected beacons that do not pass the safety check free of charge.

To find instructions on how to check each beacon and register the affected beacon on-line for a free replacement or repair, go to

Yeti Hopper M20, M30 1.0 and 2.0, and SideKick Dry

In cooperation with Health Canada, yeti is voluntarily recalling the Hopper M20, Hopper M30 1.0 and 2.0, and SideKick Dry products sold between March 2018 and January 2023. The magnet-lined closures on these products can fail and release the magnets, which poses a risk of serious injury or death if ingested. We ask all customers currently in possession of the Hopper M20, Hopper M30 and SideKick Dry to immediately stop use of these products.

Please visit this link to receive your choice of either a suggested replacement product of equal or greater value than the recalled product or a full refund in the form of a YETI gift card with an additional value depending on product and market: https://www.yeti.ca/M20-M30-sidekick-product-recall.html
