What makes ATK bindings special is the sheer quantity and quality of patented systems they include, all while keeping the weight to an absolute minimum. The Raider EVO is the perfect example of this. This Free Touring binding, dedicated to downhill performance, weighs only 370 grams, and incorporates eight of ATK’s unique mechanisms.
Think of the Raider EVO as a crown with eight precious jewels, each one engineered so you could focus on nothing but skiing. Discover each one of them here, from the automatic EVO Brake System, to the adjustable release values of both heel and toe pieces.
Features
- Toe Piece: Release Adjustment® | A revolutionary toe piece with adjustable release value. For the first time in the history of pin bindings, the toes don’t have a fixed release value. Why is this important? Because the toe pieces with a default value guarantee a medium retention, which therefore works best when the heel unit is also set to medium release values. What happens when you move away from these median values? At low settings the toe will provide most of the hold, while at high settings the heel does most of the work. But now, thanks to this new ATK technology, the front and rear of the binding collaborate equally in managing the releases | The adjustable settings of the heel release are now available for the toe piece! The new toes by ATK Bindings feature the adjustable release values that, combined with the heel piece adjustment, delivers top class stability and a more precise release
- Toe Piece: Aluminum Snowpack Proof System® | This prevents snow and ice debris from accumulating under the mobile parts of the toe piece | No snow debris under the toe part, even with several up-hill/downhill transitions. This also avoids snow loads on the toe piece, granting a perfect lightness at any moment
- Toe Piece: Uphill Hardness Variator System® | A system that you can use to adjust the stiffness of the toe-lug lock in up-hill mode | A multi-position selector between the front lever and the toe lug. By changing the setting of the selector, the stiffness of the toe-lug lock in up-hill mode can be adjusted by increasing pressure on the locking system
- Toe Piece: Easy Entry System® | Carefully studied geometries that facilitate the step-in | This system is characterized by a new design of the toe piece. Its innovative geometries allow a smooth step-in, which is safe and easy-to-perform on all the latest boot models. Effective even if the soles are worn
- Toe Piece: Integrated Rampant Support®
- Heel Piece: EVO Brake System® | A single hand will be enough to manage the ski brake. By rotating the head of the bindings by 180 degrees, the ski brake activates, and the binding switches from uphill to downhill mode. At this point, simply step in to start having fun. Similarly, simply rotate again and press the boot heel on the rear plate to lock the ski brake in position and start the ascent | Thanks to the EVO system, a single hand will be enough to manage the ski brake. By rotating the head of the bindings by 180 degrees, the ski brake activates, and the binding switches from uphill to downhill mode. At this point, simply step-in to lock the brake. Similarly, simply rotate again and press the boot heel on the rear plate to lock the ski brake in position and start the ascent
- Heel Piece: Rotation | The head of the binding can now rotate up to 25 degrees to absorb stress before returning to position. Compared to previous models, where the maximum angle was 16 degrees, this wider rotation ensures better energy absorption thanks to a better recall to center action
- Heel Piece: Cam Release System® | ATK’s signature patented system that contributes to an effortless step-in, and grants amazing torsional stiffness | The CAM Release System drives the step-in and the vertical release in case of fall. A special CAM profile is pressed towards the heel pins by a pre-tensioned spring: when the step-in or a release occurs, the pins are forced to follow the CAM profile and provide a precise release
- Heel Piece: Power Plates Included | The new aluminum plates bring just two extra grams while significantly reducing plastic usage and enhance both the durability and colorful presence of your bindings
- Heel Piece: Elastic Response System® | Ensures precise releases and optimal skis performances by facilitating their natural flex, enhancing downhill performances | When under stress, skis flex and compress. Under these circumstances, the heel piece can slide towards the tail and repositions itself once normal conditions are restored, thanks to ELASTIC RESPONSE SYSTEM®
- Heel Piece: Magneto Heel Flap System® | An ingenious mechanism that manages the heel flaps through two different magnets. Comfy and precise even when used with poles | As ingenious as it is simple, this magnet system provides the handling and stabilization of the heel flaps. There are different versions of the heel flaps, each one paired with the right binding model
Details
- Performing Through Lightness | ATK’s foundation, ATK’s roots. ATK took its first steps in this industry by developing lightweight race bindings, and now, as then, lightness is key to achieving what athletes crave: speed. Therefore, it's easy to understand why “performance through lightness” has been the mantra that has accompanied ATK's growth in its early years. As ATK’s role in the ski mountaineering universe started to evolve, they needed some stabilization because it's easy to lose control during a phase of growth, just as it is easy to get caught up in the events. That's why they decided to keep their roots stable, not changing their approach to the activity, and ultimately not getting in their own way. In fact, as they expanded their catalog to include the speed touring, touring, and free touring categories, they remained steadfast in their commitment to enabling an ever-wider range of ski mountaineers to achieve performance through lightness
- Durability | Crafted from high-quality materials and engineered to withstand the rigors of backcountry skiing, the Raider 11 EVO offers exceptional durability and reliability. Its reinforced components and thoughtful construction ensure longevity, providing peace of mind during your most demanding adventures
- Vivace Colorways | Energetic colors for the skiers that want to leave a mark on every snowy stage. Gaudy but essential, ideal to partner with the liveliest skiers in every run. Perfect for those who want to be the coolest at the Après-ski too
