Black Diamond Quickdraw Pro Probe 240

When a slide happens, you don't get time to fumble with gear, and the Black Diamond Quickdraw Pro Probe 240 is built around that reality. Pull the integrated stuff sack's cord and the six aluminum segments snap into a rigid 2.4 metre probe almost before you've finished the motion, letting you start searching while your partners are still digging out their shovels. The oversized alloy tip punches through wind-packed snow and gives you a clear, confident read on what's beneath the surface, while high-contrast depth markings at key measurement points help you log snow depth and run stability tests without squinting at a ruler. Packed down to under half a metre and barely heavier than a water bottle, it disappears into a pack on lightweight tours, companion rescue practice days, or missions into terrain where the snowpack runs thin. It's the kind of tool you hope to never need and are grateful to have the moment you do.
