The Rockstar V sits at 3 stars for me for 2 reasons - it's build quality and the customer service from Jackson. The boat fits and performs beautifully - they did a great job on the hull design, the performance is there well beyond what my meager skill set can eek out of it, but you can watch monster paddlers throw monster moves in it all over youtube. I have no aspirations to become a freestyle paddler - I bought mine at Trailhead for the expressed purpose of using it to improve my hole paddling and river running. Bought new in later December 2023, and used pretty much only in swimming pools, 14 months later the cockpit rim split apart, and two holes had formed in the combing outside where the string cleats attach to the knee braces. I am very aware there have been several reports of this having happened. Jackson's policy - %70 off on a new boat, which, after shipping / conversion / taxes / tariffs will cost me essentially what I paid for the boat in the first place. The build quality is about as strong as Jackson's commitment to taking care of their customers - at least that's been my experience.
