I have had this board for a little over a year now. So far I have paddled it at Fort Desoto Florida, Key Largo Water Trails and John Pennekamp Coral Reef State Park, Bahia Honda State Park, St Margarettes Bay Prince Edward Island, St Lawrence River and Rideau Canal. It's about to accompany to the Atlantic Coast of the Dominican Republic. Great peace of kit, during the summer it is always in the trunk of my car, like a trunk boat, always ready to go. Has handled ocean swells and currents without too much trouble although it does not handle well in surf and faster tidal currents. Sometimes solo, sometimes with my daughter, always with my water proof bag, water, snacks and camera gear. Great piece of gear for the price.
This is a good entry level SUP board. I knocked off 2 stars because the picture online makes the mat look like it's black and 2 shades of grey while in reality it's black, grey and white, and it takes quite a while to pump up the board to 10/15 PSI. The first time I used it I couldn't get it inflated passed 8 PSI and it wasn't very stable on the water. My second trip out I worked hard to get between 10 and 15 PSI and it was stable, but it was a lot of effort. Be prepared to spend at least 15 minutes blowing up the board and to sweat when it's hot and humid! The backpack I find flimsy and worry about the straps or zipper failing as summer goes on and I bring my board places. All around, if you're looking for an entry level board this is an ok choice.
Trailhead Response: Thanks for the Review! We've changed the picture, based on your feedback. 8 PSI is certainly not enough for a good paddling experience best try to get in the 12-15 range. Keep in mind that the all sup boards are harder to inflate the first few times as the material is stiffer. Of course we also sell an electric pump that makes inflation a breeze.
I got this board last year and it did everything I hoped for. I got it for the cottage for something that I could use and the kids could too. It's really great for the kids to play on, often they'll use it as a raft and it's great for a quick paddle down the lake. Great value.
