Mammut Barryvox 2

The Barryvox 2 is a compact digital avalanche transceiver for ski touring, skiing and mountaineering. It tests its own transmit and search function every time you switch it on, then keeps running transmission and battery tests. A motion sensor returns the unit from SEARCH to SEND if a searching rescuer stays still for four minutes. Mammut quotes a search range of 70 m, and the upper-body carrying system comes in the box with the batteries.

Features

• Automatic self test that checks transmit and search function at switch-on and runs regular transmission and battery tests
• Auto-revert to SEND, using a motion sensor to switch from SEARCH to SEND if a searching rescuer does not move for four minutes
• Rescue SEND that switches a non-searching rescuer's unit to SEND in the event of a secondary avalanche
• Interference Guard that reduces signal interference and indicates it in transmit and search mode
• Group check for checking the transmission frequency and strength of other transceivers
• Acoustic search guidance with a sequence of tones, so your eyes can stay on the avalanche field
• Multiple burial support with a visual interface, Auto-Select for the strongest signal first, and a marking function
• Reverse direction function that avoids 180-degree search errors
• Barryvox app compatibility for firmware updates, configuration and training
• Carrying system for wearing on the upper body, included
