Outdoor Research Prevail Heated GORE-TEX Mitt

The Prevail is a heated mitt for chairlift laps, resort days and shovelling the driveway when it is properly cold. Outdoor Research pairs its ALTIHeat battery system with a waterproof, windproof GORE-TEX insert, so the heat stays in and the weather stays out. The rechargeable lithium-ion batteries sit in their own zippered pocket, and you set the heat level yourself. A goat leather palm takes the wear, and a glove clip and removable leash keep the mitts attached to you when you pull them off to eat a snack. One firm rule from the maker: do not wear heated gloves with an avalanche beacon, because they interfere with its performance.
