- Performance | These scores indicate how a product performs within its category, with each product being manufactured to the highest quality
- Waterproofing
- 6/6 | Fully Waterproof
- In the rain, snow, or on that one muddy section of trail, you want your feet to stay dry. Waterproof shoes use special materials and technologies according to their intended use, which prevent moisture from penetrating, while your shoe remains breathable
- Insulation
- 6/6 | Extreme insulation - comfort range down to -22°F / -30°C
- Warm feet when it's freezing cold - not too warm when it's already warm out. The appropriate insulation level of your shoe depends mainly on the climate and season. Mammut’s levels are a guide; the product may perform well outside of them
- Protection
- 6/6 | Very high protection
- To protect your feet from rough rocks, roots or boulders, Mammut’s shoes are equipped with special protective elements on the toes, heel or sides. In demanding terrain with boulders or on long hikes with heavy loads, more protection is advisable
- Cushioning
- 4/6 | Medium cushioning for a compact walking feel
- Cushioning indicates how well a midsole absorbs shock. More cushioning reduces stress on joints and muscles and increases comfort. Less cushioning allows for more direct contact with the ground, and therefore faster and more accurate reactions
- Stability
- 4/6 | Medium foot or ankle support
- Stability is needed first and foremost to keep your ankles from twisting. The more difficult and steeper the terrain, the more important it becomes. When touring with heavy loads, good protection is an advantage
- Grip
- 4/6 | Medium tread depth for good grip
- Shoes with good grip do not slip, even in wet conditions. They offer grip, adhesion and traction on different surfaces. The grip is influenced by the rubber blend, sole structure and tread depth - on firm trails a low profile tread is suitable, on mixed or challenging terrain you are best advised to go for a deep sole tread
