Opinel Picnic + Spoon and Fork Accessories

The Picnic+ cutlery inserts are smart and durable accessories for on-the-go meals and camp cooking. Part of Opinel’s Nomad Cooking Collection, you can ditch the disposable cutlery and replace it with the Picnic+ set. Perfect for hiking, weekend picnics, or just everyday lunches, the Picnic+ set utilizes the Virobloc safety ring on Opinel’s No.08 folding knife to hold the fork and/or spoon insert in place.

Picnic+ Insert Set includes: fork insert, spoon insert, dual-use micro-fiber napkin that doubles as a carrying case.

*Fork and spoon inserts compatible with all wooden-handled No.08 folding knives equipped with the Virobloc safety ring, circa 2000. Picnic+ inserts are intended to be used ONLY on non-altered Opinel No.08 wood handle knives. Picnic+ inserts are not compatible with No.08 Slim Effile knives, No.08 Outdoor, No.08 Gardening knife, No.08 Pruning Knife, or No.08 Mushroom knife.

To attach the fork or spoon, first, with the knife blade closed, open the rotating ring. Next, attach the fork or spoon onto the ring using the small nicks. Finally, close the ring.

This compact, lightweight and easily transportable kit is made in France and is designed to replace disposable cutlery. For picnics, but also for office meals!

In 1909, in order to honor this tradition, Joseph Opinel chose the Crowned Hand as his emblem - a very symbolic choice, as it represents the blessing hand of Saint Jean-Baptiste, which is featured on the coat of arms of the city of Sant-Jean-de-Maurienne. Opinel added the crown as a reminder that Savoie was originally a duchy. All Opinel blades since have been stamped with the Crowned Hand
